Nominations Now Open for MOVTA Vice President

Columbia, MO: The Missouri Veterinary Technicians Association (Missouri Veterinary Technicians Association) is now accepting nominations for the position of Vice President.

This election will fill the Vice President seat for the current Executive Board term. Due to the timing of this election, the individual elected as Vice President will assume office retroactively to February 1, 2026, in alignment with the standard MOVTA officer term dates.

About the Vice President Role

The duties of the Vice President are outlined in the MOVTA Constitution, and include responsibilities such as:

  • Presiding in the absence of the President
  • Supervising committee chairs
  • Acting as liaison to accredited veterinary technology educational programs and student associations
  • Auditing financial records annually
  • Representing the Association with other professional organizations
  • Submitting an annual report to the membership
  • Assuming the role of President at the end of the term

Eligibility Requirements

Per the MOVTA Constitution, candidates for Vice President must:

  • Be a current, active FULL MOVTA member in good standing
  • Hold current Missouri Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) licensure
  • Be willing to uphold the MOVTA Constitution, bylaws, policies, and ethical standards
  • Complete all required disclosures as part of the nomination process

Eligibility will be verified by the MOVTA Board prior to ballot approval.

Nomination Timeline

  • Nominations open: February 1
  • Nominations close: February 14
  • Voting period: February 19 – February 25

All nominations are reviewed by the MOVTA Board to confirm eligibility and required disclosures before candidates are approved for the ballot.

Nominations are collected via an online form. Submission of a nomination does not guarantee placement on the ballot.
