Veterinary Technician Student Scholarship

MOVTA will award one $500.00 scholarship and complimentary registration to our fall conference (where the award will be presented) to an outstanding veterinary technician student who supports our mission and shows leadership in the field of veterinary technology.
Previous scholarship recipients
Requirements
Student must be:
- Currently enrolled full-time in an AVMA accredited veterinary technology program
- The program must be located in Missouri, or
- The student is a resident of Missouri while attending an online program
- In good academic standing with a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA
- Active student member of MOVTA
- Active member of program's SCNAVTA chapter (if applicable)
Application must be completed and will consist of the following:
- Completed application
- 500 word essay over a topic below
- Progress report from school official/registrar showing enrollment status and minimum 3.0 GPA
Essays must be a minimum of 500 words detailing ONE of the following topics:
- What does the "Vet Tech Oath" mean to you, and how will you honor it during your career?
- Describe where you see yourself in three (3) years and how you plan to attain those goals.
- Other than a love for animals, what lead you to choose veterinary technology as a career path?
- Name a person who has mentored you or otherwise encouraged and supported you in your journey to become a registered veterinary technician; give specific examples.
Essay can be typed or hand written, but must be legible.
The scholarship committee will make the final decision with considerations for content, spelling, and grammar; and no voting members of such committee shall be affiliated with veterinary technology schools in Missouri.
All applications and essays must be postmarked no later than August 15th of each year to the address on the application. The winner will be notified by August 31st.
